<OOC> vs. <IC> One of the first concepts you need to understand before you can begin role playing on Elendor, is the difference between being In Character (IC) and Out Of Character (OOC). As a player, you have the ability to set yourself OOC or IC. When you want to role play, you need to be set IC. Any other time, you should be set OOC. Elendor is a very social place, both IC and OOC, and many people here have dedicated much time to the OOC running of this very large recreation of Tolkien's Middle Earth. So, Elendor is more than just role play, it's a community of people working together to create something great. Most of your time on this MUSH as a newbie will be OOC, as you learn the ropes, and even watch others RP (role play). When you feel ready, you set IC and start to play your charater. And if you ever have any problems, you can always type '+locals' to find out who your local admins are for your culture (once you've been cultured). |
